Welcome to the HappyWhole30 Email Course! I'm so excited to bring you this program because it marries two of my favorite things: The Whole30 and helping people succeed. See, when I decided to do the Whole30, I was in my absolute worst physical shape. Due to a traumatic 2014-2015, I focused what little energy I had on mental and spiritual health. I have no regrets about making that decision, but I always knew I'd tackle the physical side as soon as I felt able. When 2016 arrived, I was in a much stronger place, so I began researching options to reset my body. When I stumbled onto the Whole30, I knew I wanted to try it, but I wasn't certain it would "work" long-term. I'd tried so many other diets, but failed to make any lasting changes.
What began as a hopeful experiment has completely transformed my life from the inside out. This is truly a lifestyle and mindset change! I changed the way I ate, sure, but the program taught me so much more than that! Over the course of just 30 days, I let go of self-loathing, guilt, and shame, and found self-discipline and self-respect. No other program has done that for me. Rather than starving myself on tiny portions of tasteless food, I ate. I ate a lot. And still managed to lose about 7-8 lbs. without killing myself at the gym. Even on the most strict diets, I'd never gotten results like that! Want to hear more? Watch the full video below!
Anyway, with two cycles of the Whole30 under my belt, I've learned a lot, which is why I wanted to create a way to share my best tips for success, whether it's your first round or your umpteenth. This program is not easy, but the key to making it as easy as a possible is preparation, especially if you're a first-timer! I know folks have begun with the best intentions, but quit because they weren't ready for the reality of the challenge. I don't want that to be you! That's why I created HappyWhole30!
The HappyWhole30 is my 5-day email course + worksheets and other resources, designed to maximize your Whole30 journey. Every day for five days, you'll receive an email from me, which will instructions for the day, as well as an action to complete. The goal is to give you everything you need to get through the first—and arguably toughest—week of the Whole30.
I created this course with two sets of people in mind: Those who are completely intimidated by the Whole30 and those who technically finished the program, but didn't experience the full transformational benefits of the challenge. I understand and want to serve both camps, and believe the HappyWhole30 can do that.
I'm passionate about the Whole30 and I want you to succeed, which is why I've created this amazing FREE content. I know what it's like to be out of shape and seemingly out of options. Every single dietary change you've tried to make hasn't lasted, leaving you scrambling for what's familiar, comfortable, and, sadly, detrimental. What an awful, demoralizing cycle! The Whole30 can break that chain, but it will take everything you've got, which is why you need to be as prepared as possible. This course will do exactly that! By condensing everything I've learned and breaking it down into bite-sized pieces, I'm saving you an enormous amount of time and energy. Also, once subscribed, you'll have lifetime access, which means you can keep referring back whenever you need a refresher. You'll also receive any additional resources I create.
This day is about tackling the mental component of the Whole30 challenge head on. The worksheet for this day will ask you to identify your most powerful reasons for doing the program and highlight possible pitfalls in order to find solutions before they become an obstacle.
Today's assignment involves figuring out your biggest food/drink crutch and weaning yourself off of it. This is an important step because it smooths the transition to the Whole30.
Having the support of likeminded people will help you get the most out of this program! This is especially vital if you're the only one doing the Whole30 in your home. The Whole30 site has a wonderful forum, so I encourage you to check it out! This is the day I recommend filling your social media feeds with Whole30 (and Paleo) accounts in order to keep yourself motivated.
The final two days will focus on food, my favorite topic! The main gripe people have is the sheer number of forbidden foods. Let me just say, I know, I know, I know! I felt exactly the same at first, but then I realized there was entire world of fruits, vegetables, and proteins to discover! Today's worksheet features a sample menu as well as a blank one for you to start filling in. It's important for you to see just how much is still widely available and compliant, like my Loaded Breakfast Potato, Creamy Asparagus Soup, and Pork Belly Ramen Zoodle Bowl, for example. You can use the resource list from Day 3 to help you, too.
It's time to get in the kitchen and I'm spilling all my best tips on where to find recipes, what foods are perfect for batch cooking, and helpful substitutions to make your favorite dishes Whole30-compliant. It might be the best day of the program because you get to EAT!
