New Year's Snow Day in Flagstaff, AZ + Time to Celebrate!
What better way to ring in the New Year than a romp in freshly fallen snow? Living in Phoenix, we don't see much in the way of snow; thankfully, icy fun is just a car ride away.
Now, this trip was less than ideal in so many ways. First, the snow play area we went to was too full the first day. Having just spent hours in the car, we didn't want to turn right back around and go home, so we decided to find a room for the night. As luck would have it, every room in Flagstaff was booked solid.
At that point, we planned to head to Camp Verde, a nearby town, to find cheap, but clean accommodations. Before we could do that, however, we needed to get provisions for the night. Because we we hadn't anticipated a night away from home, we needed to grab a few essentials like nighttime Pull-ups, toothbrushes, deodorant, baby food, etc.
By the time we checked in and got settled, we were all exhausted. It was kind of a mess, honestly. Still, we had a relatively smooth evening and awoke energized, ready to take on the snowy hills.
And that's just what we did.
As soon as we reached the park, we knew all the bumps along the way had been completely worth it. Together, we'd made it through one of the toughest years in our family's history. It was time to celebrate.
