I Am Worth The Effort.
Hooray! It's my first time joining the "That's What She Said" Linkup hosted by Dean of Mrs. AOK and Courtney of What's Up With The Willems. I'm loving the creative twist and feminine slant of the prompts, so I know I'll be regularly joining the party. If you'd like to do the same, click this link right here.
The thing I love most about this quote that it doesn't sugarcoat the fact that life is hard. It freely acknowledges that there are unpleasant aspects to being human, but we have to move forward, anyway. As a recovering over-thinker and over-analyzer, putting my thoughts into action is difficult. I have loads of ideas, but that pesky follow-through is lacking. I've been known to start new projects or hobbies with enthusiasm only to abandon them when the going gets tough. Pair this with an all-or-nothing mentality and you can clearly see why I've failed so often. Ha!
The beauty of getting older is the wisdom and clarity I've attained. These days, I can clearly see where I need to improve and instead of feeling defeated, I can feel empowered by my ability to evolve. I can become who I want to be by sheer force of will. How cool is that?!
I can already see and feel the process happening. I've come so far in the past few months, and that's what keeps me going and allows me to "pretend to be psyched" during the crappy times. Pushing myself to rise to any occasion is an important muscle to strengthen. And if it happens to involve a bit of lip gloss (and some eye shadow, blush, false lashes, and lipstick), so be it. I'm worth the effort.
(Gotta love that dirt on my knee. See why I rarely jump in front of the camera? LOL)
